About the role

Join the energetic team at Columbus Coffee in Hastings as a Barista/Café Assistant. You will work in a high‑energy, customer‑focused environment, serving great coffee and food while building genuine connections with guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages to the Columbus Coffee standard.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment.
• Engage with customers, answer questions, and provide friendly service.
• Handle cash transactions and operate the point‑of‑sale system during shifts.
• Support stock management, including receiving deliveries and restocking supplies.
• Adapt quickly during busy periods, ensuring speed and quality.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for hospitality and coffee culture.
• Enthusiastic, positive attitude with a high‑energy vibe.
• Willingness to learn the Columbus Coffee method of drink preparation.
• Flexibility to work daytime hours across all seven days, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Coffee preparation and espresso‑machine operation.
