Backend Engineer – Internal Systems & Restaurant Platform

About the role

First Table is looking for a Backend Engineer to design and maintain the internal systems and restaurant‑facing tools that power its reservation platform. You will work across Sales, Marketing, Support and Product teams to turn business challenges into reliable, scalable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and enhance internal productivity tools, automations and third‑party integrations.
• Create and maintain data workflows, reporting dashboards and operational analytics.
• Develop restaurant‑partner features that improve onboarding, reporting and growth management.
• Design, implement and support backend services and APIs on a PHP and AWS‑based stack.
• Ensure all systems are scalable, reliable and easy to maintain.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design reviews.

Required profile

• Strong experience in backend development, preferably with commercial PHP projects.
• Proven ability to work with APIs, integrations and relational databases.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
