Assistant Project Manager

About the role

Crown Infrastructure Delivery (CID) is seeking a proactive Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of high‑impact government infrastructure and construction projects across New Zealand. You will work closely with clients, programme delivery teams, and the Project Support Office to ensure projects progress smoothly through all lifecycle stages.

Key responsibilities

• Support project delivery and maintain accurate documentation.
• Assist with contracts, change control processes, and business case development.
• Manage risks, issues, and stakeholder communications.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Provide high‑quality administrative and project support to the wider team.

Required profile

• Motivated, organised and eager to learn.
• Alignment with CID values: Keep it Simple, Make it Happen, Do What’s Right, Build Lasting Relationships.
• Project management qualification (or working towards one).
• Experience in construction or project environments.
• Familiarity with NZS 3910 and NZS 3916 contracts.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and analytical abilities.
• Confidence using project management tools.
