Assistant Programme Manager (Children's Programs)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Programme Manager to help deliver fun, safe and educational after‑school experiences for children at our Glenfield site. Working a minimum of 10 hours per week, you will support the Programme Manager and step in as the second‑in‑command when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Programme Manager in daily operations and ensure sessions run smoothly.
• Act as 2IC, leading sessions and supervising large groups of children.
• Plan and deliver structured activities such as arts & crafts, sports, games and off‑site trips.
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance and maintain consistency across the team.
• Guide and support Programme Assistants on shift, ensuring expectations are met.
• Build positive relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff through clear communication.
• Set‑up, pack‑down and prepare resources for each session.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in New Zealand (visa or citizenship).
• Reliable transport to the Forrest Hill site.
• Experience working with groups of children (e.g., childcare, coaching, camps).
• Confidence to step into a leadership role and make decisions.
• Ability to manage group behaviour calmly and supportively.
• Team player with strong communication skills for children and adults.
• Age 20 years or older.
