Assistant Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager in delivering high‑quality behavioral health care to adult patients at Mease Hospital Dunedin. This onsite position combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities in a fast‑paced, short‑term intensive care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Nurse Manager in supervising nursing staff and addressing patient care issues.
• Conduct performance appraisals, hiring, counseling, and termination processes for team members.
• Serve as a role model and communicate organizational information to the unit.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients receiving Baker Act‑related care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Current RN license and BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience in an acute, post‑acute, or sub‑acute setting.
• At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Preferred: nursing specialty certification.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
