About the role
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join Assemble’s fast‑growing property business in the heart of Auckland’s Central Business District. The role offers broad exposure to budgeting, financial reporting and the full accounts payable/receivable cycle within a lean, flat accounting team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for a diversified property portfolio across New Zealand.
- Process invoices, payments and receipts, ensuring accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare routine financial reports and assist senior accountants with ad‑hoc analysis.
- Collaborate with the property management team to resolve financial queries and improve reporting efficiency.
Required profile
- Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a small, collaborative team.
- Interest in the real‑estate sector and property finance.
