Assets Manager – Engineering Management

About the role

The Assets Manager – Engineering Management will lead the reliability, asset strategy and capital investment programmes for a major dairy manufacturing plant in Kawerau. Reporting to senior leadership, this role provides genuine influence over operational decisions and staff direction, ensuring the plant operates efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive plant reliability initiatives, reducing downtime and improving performance.
• Develop and implement asset management strategies aligned with long‑term capital investment plans.
• Lead engineering, reliability and capital projects from concept through delivery.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate engineering solutions within the dairy process environment.
• Provide strategic guidance and leadership to operational staff and management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in food manufacturing, dairy or similar process industries.
• Strong background in engineering management, reliability engineering, and capital project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in a manufacturing setting.
