Asset Information Officer

About the role

The University of Waikato is seeking an Asset Information Officer to support smart asset management across its campuses. You will maintain critical property data, ensuring records are accurate, up‑to‑date and useful for planning, compliance and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update asset records in the Maximo system for all university buildings and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to improve data quality, systems and processes.
• Support maintenance planning, reporting and lifecycle planning through reliable asset information.
• Identify gaps and propose enhancements to asset management procedures.
• Produce regular data quality reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and passion for data quality.
• Experience in asset, facilities or information management.
• Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a methodical approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Maximo asset management software.
