Art & Design Lecturer (Part‑time)

About the role

Wigan & Leigh College is seeking a passionate Art & Design Lecturer to join our team on a part‑time, permanent basis. You will deliver BTEC Level 1, 2 and 3 courses, helping students develop technical abilities, creative confidence and an understanding of professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Art and Design across BTEC Levels 1‑3, covering both technical skills and creative practice.
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons, providing clear feedback and meeting awarding body requirements.
• Act as a Personal Tutor, supporting students’ academic progress and career planning.
• Build links with industry professionals to enrich the curriculum.
• Participate in Open Evenings, departmental initiatives and promotional activities.

Required profile

• A degree in Art and Design or a related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience working effectively with creative‑arts students.
• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or equivalent) and the right to work in the UK.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and an enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Graphic Design (specialism welcomed).
• Textiles (specialism welcomed).
