Aquatics Team Lead – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role

The Aquatics Team Lead is responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the aquatic environment, ensuring safety, compliance and outstanding customer experiences. This is a full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term position covering parental leave, requiring a visible on‑deck presence and active lifeguarding duties.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily aquatic operations, maintaining compliance with safety standards and water‑quality regulations.
• Lead, coach and support the aquatics team, fostering a positive culture and continuous improvement.
• Ensure lifeguarding standards are upheld through the International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP).
• Participate directly in lifeguarding on the deck, leading by example.
• Manage customer service delivery to provide exceptional experiences for patrons and the community.

Required profile

• Confident, approachable leader with strong aquatic operations experience.
• Previous experience in aquatic operations, senior lifeguard, duty manager or team leadership roles.
• Current Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of aquatic safety, supervision practices and water‑quality management.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop staff.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to customer‑service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain and maintain).
