Application Specialist - Clinical Systems

About the role

Join a leading New Zealand healthcare organisation as an Applications Support Specialist for clinical systems. You will be responsible for keeping a portfolio of critical clinical applications reliable, optimised and aligned with the evolving needs of clinicians, hospital teams and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2‑3 support for PAS, EHR/EMR and other clinical applications.
• Collaborate with clinicians, business stakeholders, technology teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Support system upgrades, releases, integrations, testing and configuration activities.
• Identify and implement performance improvements and user‑experience enhancements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the clinical technology landscape.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting clinical applications in a healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of PAS, EHR/EMR or similar clinical information systems.
• Experience working closely with clinicians and other healthcare stakeholders.
• Understanding of ITIL service‑management principles.
• Ability to investigate data issues using SQL and/or Oracle.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or comparable IT service‑management platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
