Animation Tutor – Full‑time Permanent

About the role

Yoobee Colleges is seeking an enthusiastic Animation Tutor to join its Christchurch campus. You will deliver and assess the Diploma in Animation programme, helping students become work‑ready creatives in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging animation course content to diploma students.
• Develop and continuously improve teaching resources and curriculum.
• Assess student work against national and local qualification standards.
• Maintain classrooms, labs, and teaching equipment, including support for marketing and campus events.
• Record accurate student data, attendance, assessment results and monitor at‑risk students.

Required profile

• Accomplished animation practitioner with a positive, patient, self‑starting attitude.
• Strong communication and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues.

Required skills

• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe After Effects
• Adobe Animate or Toon Boom
• Autodesk Maya (animation, texturing, modelling)
• Basic 3D modelling, lighting, camera staging, pre‑visualisation and rendering
• Concept art and visual communication
• Character design
