Anaesthetic Technician / Operating Department Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking an Anaesthetic Technician / Operating Department Practitioner to join our team at Mercy Hospital. You will play a vital part in delivering safe anaesthesia for a wide range of procedures, supporting the Anaesthetist and the wider theatre team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional, technical and clinical assistance to Anaesthetists.
• Ensure safe administration of anaesthesia to patients.
• Anticipate problems and deliver exceptional patient care.
• Coordinate documentation to guarantee effective patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Anaesthetic Technician or Operating Department Practitioner.
• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Sound professional judgement and ability to practice in a culturally safe manner.
• Ability to build successful working relationships and work independently or within a multidisciplinary team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, flexible attitude.
