AI Product Engineer (Typescript/Angular/Java)

About the role

We are seeking an AI Product Engineer to join a fast‑moving construction‑technology project in New Zealand. The role blends hands‑on software development with product thinking, allowing you to define what to build and then ship it using modern AI‑assisted coding tools. The initial engagement is a four‑month sprint with strong potential for longer‑term work.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and client stakeholders to translate business problems into concrete technical specifications.
• Own feature development end‑to‑end, from scoping and design through implementation, testing and production release.
• Leverage AI coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and long‑term maintainability.
• Integrate AI components into features, refine prompts, evaluate outputs and implement guardrails for reliable production behavior.
• Work against a defined data model and clear contracts, flagging inconsistencies early.
• Provide feedback to product and client teams to continuously improve iterations.

Required profile

• Strong product instinct – you question why something is built before deciding how.
• Excellent stakeholder communication; able to understand client workflows and uncover real blockers.
• Comfortable balancing rapid delivery with thoughtful, maintainable solutions.
• Self‑directed, able to own work from concept to launch.

Required skills

• Typescript
• Angular
• Java

What we offer

• Competitive compensation of NZD 8,000–12,000 per month.
• Fully remote work arrangement.
• Opportunity to shape a greenfield product area within a leading construction‑tech company.
• Potential for extension beyond the initial four‑month sprint.
