Activity and Lifestyle Assistant

About the role

Join the supportive team at Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora as an Activity and Lifestyle Assistant in our Special Care Unit (Dementia Resthome). This full‑time position runs Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00‑17:30, offering a stable 40‑hour week with an additional $2.50 per hour for weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a varied program of recreational, social, craft and diversional activities for residents.
• Promote happiness, wellbeing and quality of life for all residents.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure a safe and engaging environment.

Required profile

• Strong empathy and a caring attitude.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Reliable, friendly and professional manner.
• Hold or be willing to obtain Dementia Care (LCP) Level 4 certification.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
