Accounts Receivable Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join our finance function in Auckland. Reporting to the Senior Finance Director, you will combine strategic oversight with day‑to‑day execution, leading a small AR team while actively managing high‑value corporate ledgers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of three AR specialists, running weekly aged‑debt huddles.
• Own key corporate accounts and make proactive collection calls to reduce 60+ and 90+ day balances.
• Resolve complex billing disputes, manage high‑value credit notes and assess client credit risk.
• Prepare concise weekly reports on DSO metrics and ledger health for senior leadership.

Required profile

• 5+ years of end‑to‑end Accounts Receivable or Credit Control experience.
• At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
• Tenacious, solution‑focused attitude with strong negotiation skills.
• Empathetic leader capable of coaching while maintaining commercial relationships.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel proficiency.
• Experience with mid‑to‑large ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (bonus).
