Accounts Officer – Finance Team (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, detail‑oriented Accounts Officer to join KPMG’s Finance team in New Zealand. Working 25 hours per week, Monday‑to‑Friday, you will manage employee expense claims and support internal stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and process employee expense claims in line with company policies.
• Code expense claims correctly and attach supporting documentation.
• Reconcile corporate credit‑card statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to employee queries regarding expense and reimbursement processes.
• Monitor outstanding claims, follow up on missing information or approvals.
• Assist with accounts payable tasks such as invoice processing and supplier payments.
• Reconcile expense‑related accounts and support month‑end reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve expense management controls and ensure compliance with tax and audit standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Officer, Accounts Payable, Finance Administration or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Professional, patient and friendly communication style.

Required skills

• SAP (preferred)
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel
