Accountant – New Plymouth

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our friendly, supportive team in New Plymouth. This permanent, full‑time position offers a blend of compliance, reporting, tax and business‑support work, ideal for someone with at least one year of experience who wants greater variety and responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, income tax returns and GST for a diverse client base.
• Liaise with clients to uncover and address their financial needs and goals.
• Consult on a range of client structures, providing tailored advice.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and year‑end account preparation.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience in accounting, finance or business advisory.
• Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA).
• Interest in pursuing CA or CAANZ studies, if not already underway.
• Strong attention to detail, client‑focused communication and a proactive, curious mindset.
• Team‑oriented attitude with a commitment to quality and professionalism.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero.
• Proficiency with MYOB or similar accounting platforms.
