Accountant

About the role

Datacom is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team. The role involves monitoring, preparing and maintaining financial information and reporting in line with best practice, supporting senior accountants and the shared services team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Record‑to‑Report activities, including generating general ledger transactions and related adjustments.
• Support monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial analysis of profit & loss statements.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies and variances in financial data.
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting systems, procedures and write‑off reduction initiatives.
• Prepare audit documentation and support year‑end closing activities.
• Produce accounting records and financial reports according to Datacom standards within set timeframes.
• Liaise with broader finance teams to embed reporting standards into processes.
• Undertake other accounting duties as required.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a flat‑structured environment.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
