Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will join Teletrac Navman's Finance Team supporting the New Zealand and Australian operations. Working in a hybrid model, the role focuses on month‑end close, financial reporting and tax preparation while driving process improvements across legacy Excel‑based workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close and twice‑monthly forecasting for the ANZ region.
• Prepare weekly ACV reports, VAT/BAS/GST/FBT calculations and other statutory filings.
• Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring accurate journal entries supported by documentation.
• Perform bookkeeping, reconciliations and ad‑hoc analysis for Australasia.
• Identify and implement improvements to manual accounting processes.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in month‑end close and journal posting.
• Strong analytical ability and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of NZ or AU tax compliance is a plus.

Required skills

• SAP or Oracle (or comparable ERP system).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (SUMIFS, INDEX/LOOKUP, pivot tables, report automation).
• Experience with large‑scale ERP implementations.
