Accountant

About the role

Connexa, New Zealand's leading mobile tower infrastructure company, is seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role will focus on IFRS 16 lease accounting, balance sheet integrity and financial controls as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including statutory reporting and external audit processes.
• Own and maintain IFRS 16 lease accounting processes, covering lease modifications, reassessments, indexation updates and technical analysis.
• Drive balance‑sheet integrity, reconciliation discipline and continuous improvement of the monthly close.
• Contribute to internal controls, finance‑system optimisation and process‑automation initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support operational and compliance initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Finance on technical accounting and compliance matters.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in financial reporting or accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and overall financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting or a strong interest in developing expertise.
• Confidence supporting audits, reconciliations and compliance processes.
• Structured, detail‑focused approach with sound judgement and strong ownership.
• Ability to communicate technical accounting matters clearly to a range of stakeholders.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
