Accountant – Hotel Finance

About the role

Join the Finance team at Accor's Auckland hub and support the daily operations of the finance department across the CP Hotels portfolio. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate month‑end processing and help improve financial procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Controller with daily finance operations and prepare portfolio‑wide month‑end journals.
• Develop, monitor and streamline hotel financial systems and procedures.
• Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports on time and accurately.
• Enforce cash handling policies and procedures.
• Review payroll journal processing and step in for the assistant accountant when needed.
• Raise on‑charge invoices for general expenses and payroll costs.
• Prepare and lodge monthly and annual payroll tax returns and GST.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and end‑of‑month journal entries (budget provisions, pre‑payments, cost of sales, accruals).
• Assist in preparing detailed monthly forecasts.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business and/or Accounting.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Hotel Accountant or in a comparable role.
• General accounting experience within a hotel environment.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of SUN accounting systems is highly advantageous.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Clear communication of accounting information to all business levels.
