Accountant – Flexible Hours (20-40 hrs/week)

About the role

This permanent position offers flexible working hours (20‑40 hrs per week) and the chance to join a respected Southland infrastructure business. You will be deeply involved in the operational side of the company, partnering with contract managers, operational leaders and the finance team to drive performance and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Support aggregate costing, performance analysis and stock movement reporting.
• Provide job and contract costing insights to improve profitability.
• Partner with operational managers to analyse costs and performance.
• Assist with reporting, forecasting, process improvements and financial planning.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a commercial, contracting, construction or similar environment.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working across financial systems.
• Interest in costing, business performance and operational decision‑making.
• Proactive, curious and collaborative mindset.
