Account Manager – Media & Advertising

About the role

As an Account Manager at PHD, you will be the primary liaison between our agency and assigned client accounts, delivering strategic media solutions that meet client objectives. You will work within a collaborative, award‑winning team to ensure campaigns are planned, executed and optimised effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement media plans that align with client briefs and marketing goals.
• Negotiate and purchase media space at competitive rates across multiple channels.
• Conduct post‑campaign analysis to evaluate effectiveness and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain day‑to‑day client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and timely communication.
• Participate in agency initiatives and shared client accounts to foster teamwork.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of experience in media planning or buying within the New Zealand market.
• Strong understanding of media terminology, channel applications and NZ media landscape.
• Proven ability to negotiate win‑win outcomes and present confidently to internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to question data and use modelling tools.
• Excellent multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using Pegasus.
• Experience using Arianna.
• Experience using TV Map.
