Youth Tutor – Level 2 Uniform Services

About the role

This full‑time permanent position is based at the Manukau campus of New Zealand Skills and Education College. You will deliver the Level 2 New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Studies – Uniform Services, providing a motivating and supportive learning experience for rangatahi.

Key responsibilities

• Create assessments, teach, and mark the Level 2 Uniform Services curriculum.
• Deliver classroom instruction and physical training, linking on‑site learning with external activities.
• Develop engaging classroom activities that prepare learners for potential careers in the defence force.
• Mentor and support youth throughout their learning journey.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification at Level 3 or above in Sports, Youth work or a related field.
• Understanding of Te Reo and passion for fitness; physically fit to lead drills.
• Previous teaching, marking, mentoring or coaching experience with youth.
• Confidence in designing engaging classroom activities.
• New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education Level 5 preferred or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong IT proficiency, including CRM systems and intermediate Microsoft Suite skills.
• Background in sport, defence force, police or youth tutoring is advantageous.
