Youth Tutor – Level 2 Uniform Services

About the role

This full‑time permanent position is based at the Manukau campus of New Zealand Skills and Education College. The Youth Tutor will deliver the Level 2 New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Studies – Uniform Services, providing an innovative and supportive learning experience for rangatahi and other learners.

Key responsibilities

• Create, deliver and assess classroom and physical‑training sessions for the Uniform Services programme.
• Develop engaging assessments and mark student work in accordance with qualification standards.
• Facilitate learning activities that prepare students for potential careers in the defence force.
• Maintain accurate records using the college’s CRM and Microsoft Suite tools.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification at Level 3 or above in Sports, Youth, or a related field.
• Passion for fitness and ability to lead physical drills.
• Previous teaching, marking, mentoring or coaching experience with youth.
• Willingness to work towards or already hold a New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education Level 5.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with CRM systems.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
