About the role
The Youth Mentor will work with disengaged young people in the Waitakere area, providing guidance, support and practical assistance to help them achieve personal and educational goals. This full‑time, hybrid position is ideal for a proactive individual who wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of youth.
Key responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with young people and their families.
- Develop and deliver individualized mentoring plans.
- Facilitate group activities, workshops and community outings.
- Connect participants with education, training and employment opportunities.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in youth work or a related community service role.
- Strong passion for supporting disengaged young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
