Youth Development Worker

About the role

The Youth Development Worker will join Kick Back’s dedicated team in Auckland CBD, contributing to a values‑driven, youth‑development focused practice that places rangatahi at the centre of all work. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about social justice and committed to the fight to end youth homelessness.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct support and mentorship to young people experiencing homelessness.
• Develop and deliver culturally responsive programs that empower rangatahi.
• Collaborate with community partners, service providers and local agencies to coordinate resources.
• Advocate for youth rights and promote social‑justice initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting on program outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to social justice and youth welfare.
• Experience working with young people, especially in a community or homelessness context.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a values‑driven team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of youth development principles and rangatahi‑centric practice.
• Understanding of homelessness services and community resources.
