Year 7-8 Teacher

About the role

We are looking for an inspiring and passionate teacher to join our Timaru campus, delivering Year 7‑8 education from Term 4 2026 or as soon as possible. The role is permanent, full‑time and focuses on guiding students through the transition to secondary learning in a face‑to‑face environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and meaningful lessons tailored for Year 7‑8 students.
• Foster student ownership of learning, self‑discipline, and collaboration.
• Implement the Learn to Learn framework to develop effective learning strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent teaching practices across the campus.
• Encourage inquiry, creativity, and real‑world problem‑solving skills.
• Engage actively with parents and the wider community.

Required profile

• Registered New Zealand Teacher with current certification.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Experience teaching Year 7‑8 (or similar) in New Zealand.
• Passion for innovative teaching methods promoting active learning and critical thinking.
• Strong commitment to fostering a growth mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
