Workshop Assistant – Hands‑on Role in Tauranga

About the role

Join Motion’s growing workshop team in Tauranga as a hands‑on Workshop Assistant. You will support a range of industrial customers across New Zealand, helping keep equipment running smoothly while gaining exposure to a fast‑moving, regional business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a customer‑focused service for all workshop activities.
• Monitor and order workshop consumables; manage inbound goods and put‑away stock.
• Prepare and paint gearboxes; maintain stock integrity and conduct regular stock‑takes.
• Perform quality control on inbound and outbound jobs.
• Pack, dispatch, and load/unload trucks using a fork hoist.
• Maintain workshop tools and ensure a safe working environment in line with OSH requirements.

Required profile

• Physically fit and able to lift objects of at least 20 kg.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence; fork‑hoist licence (training can be provided).
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements in an industrial setting.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and collaborate as a team player.
