Wine Ambassador (Seasonal)

About the role

We are looking for a warm, knowledgeable and sales‑driven Wine Ambassador to represent our family‑owned organic wine estate in Marlborough. This seasonal position (October 2026 – April 2027) combines wine hosting, sales, guest services, administration and digital engagement, giving you exposure to all facets of a premium winery.

Key responsibilities

• Host premium wine tastings and private experiences, confidently discussing wine, viticulture and food pairing.
• Convert visitor interactions into wine sales and nurture long‑term customer relationships.
• Promote and enrol guests into the winery’s wine club through personal engagement.
• Assist vineyard cottage guests from reservation through departure, handling bookings and point‑of‑sale operations.
• Manage guest enquiries, maintain the customer database and support general administration.
• Create occasional social‑media and marketing content.
• Provide flexible support across the small family‑winery team as needed.

Required profile

• Strong wine knowledge with the ability to discuss viticulture, wine styles and food pairing.
• Wine qualifications such as WSET Level 2 or higher, sommelier training, or equivalent industry experience (preferred).
• Excellent people skills, confident and sales‑oriented.
• Previous experience in wine tourism, fine‑wine retail, hospitality or luxury tourism.
• Organisational and administrative competence.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to assist wherever required.
