Volunteer Services Manager

About the role

Waipuna Hospice is seeking an energetic Volunteer Services Manager to lead and grow its volunteer workforce. You will translate the organisation’s strategy into practical volunteer service delivery, ensuring a sustainable, capable, and engaged team that supports compassionate end‑of‑life care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Volunteer Coordinators to build a high‑performing team.
• Plan and manage volunteer workforce supply to meet operational demand.
• Partner with leaders across the organisation to support volunteer engagement and experience.
• Drive continuous improvement using data, insights, and feedback.
• Build community connections to attract and grow the volunteer workforce.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, business, health, community services or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in people leadership, including coaching and developing teams.
• Experience delivering services aligned to organisational strategy and operational needs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to influence at all levels.
• Experience managing a volunteer or workforce programme.
