Visitor Services Representative

About the role

The Visitor Services Representative will be the friendly face of Auckland Botanic Gardens, helping visitors enjoy a memorable experience. This permanent part‑time role involves a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, supporting reception, bookings, tours, workshops and events.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors, provide information and recommendations to enhance their garden experience.
• Handle incoming calls and emails, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
• Assist with the care and presentation of plant displays in the Visitor Centre.
• Support community engagement by helping with education programmes, guided walks and public events.
• Maintain accurate records of site bookings and visitor feedback.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, customer‑focused attitude with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and share rostered duties.
• Passion for plants, gardens and connecting with people.
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varied shift patterns.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; strong interpersonal and organisational abilities are essential.
