About the role

Join Ryman Healthcare as the Village Manager of James Wattie Retirement Village in Havelock North. You will lead a well‑established community, delivering exceptional resident experiences, developing high‑performing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the village operates efficiently, safely and sustainably.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large multidisciplinary team to achieve outstanding resident outcomes.
• Deliver a superior resident experience through proactive engagement with residents, families and stakeholders.
• Manage financial performance, budgets and commercial results to drive profitability.
• Ensure operational excellence, safety standards and sustainable practices across the village.
• Identify improvement opportunities, lead change initiatives and embed continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with support office functions, sales, and community partners.

Required profile

• Proven operational leadership experience in a complex, customer‑focused environment.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with a data‑driven decision‑making approach.
• Track record of building engaged, high‑performing teams through coaching and accountability.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with residents, families and key stakeholders.
• Resilience, sound judgement and effective decision‑making in a fast‑paced setting.
• Experience driving change, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
