Untrained Reliever – Golden Sands (Casual)

About the role

Central Kids is seeking casual, untrained relievers to support the Golden Sands centre in Papamoa. You will step in on a day‑to‑day basis to cover permanent staff, helping children (tamariki) and families (whānau) achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing care for children across multiple services.
• Assist with daily routines, learning activities, and outdoor play.
• Support the centre’s cultural commitments, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships and bicultural practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in line with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Willingness to work in different centres within the Central North Island.
• Passion for positive learning outcomes for children.
• Adaptable, flexible and open to varied environments.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi based partnerships.
• Commitment to a culture of health, safety, aroha, mana, tiaki, and manaaki.

Required skills

• Ability to follow safety and safeguarding procedures.
• Basic communication skills to engage with children and families.
