Training Development Manager

About the role

Land Search and Rescue is seeking an experienced Training Development Manager to lead the design, development and continuous improvement of its training resources and learning programmes. This is a hands‑on leadership position that blends instructional design, project scoping and stakeholder engagement to deliver practical, safe and inclusive training solutions for the search‑and‑rescue sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analysis and define learning outcomes for new and existing programmes.
• Design, develop and document training materials, assessments and moderation processes.
• Coordinate with subject‑matter experts, operational practitioners, advisory groups, contractors and internal teams.
• Oversee the training development pipeline from concept through testing, implementation and ongoing improvement.
• Support the Competency Framework by ensuring training aligns with required knowledge and skill standards.
• Collaborate with the Academic and Compliance Manager and Training Delivery team to maintain quality and incorporate feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience in adult education, training design, learning and development or instructional design.
• Strong understanding of needs analysis, learning outcomes, assessment design and continuous improvement.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to lead complex, inter‑related training projects and manage priorities, deadlines and budgets.
