Test Engineer – Schemes (Enterprise & Pacific Payments)

About the role

As a Test Engineer – Schemes within ANZ’s Enterprise and Pacific Payments tribe, you will ensure high‑quality software delivery for card‑switching and scheme‑compliance projects. You will work closely with delivery partners and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and align testing activities.
• Analyse specifications, design and execute functional and non‑functional test cases across all testing phases.
• Identify, log and manage risks, issues and dependencies while ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
• Communicate test progress, challenges and solutions to the team and across delivery streams.
• Mentor junior team members, promote knowledge sharing and continuously improve testing tools and processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in functional and non‑functional testing within an agile environment.
• Strong documentation skills with clear traceability from business requirements to test artefacts.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Card Switch ecosystem, including POS, ATM and messaging formats such as ISO8583 and AS2805.
• Hands‑on experience with Paysim and Schemes simulators.
• Excellent communication, self‑management and a proactive quality‑first mindset.
