About the role
Protecnium is seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to lead the Temporary Works process on a major transport infrastructure construction project in Auckland. The role is fully on‑site for an estimated three‑month period, with the possibility of redeployment to other projects after completion.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and coordinate the Temporary Works Management Plan (TWMP) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure design briefs from the Temporary Works Supervisor are complete and reviewed by relevant parties.
- Determine risk‑check categories using sound engineering judgement and appoint competent designers.
- Oversee design development, certification, and suitability for construction, including standard solutions.
- Manage interfaces between temporary and permanent works, ensuring structural stability and compliance with design approvals.
- Control documentation such as design checks, certificates, IFC drawings, QA records, permits, inspections, maintenance logs, and RFIs.
- Review and approve load permits and verify as‑built works against design requirements.
- Maintain communication with designers, supervisors, and stakeholders to support programme delivery.
- Monitor budgets, costs, quality processes, permits, and package close‑out within the assigned area.
- Support health, safety, and environmental procedures and promote Alliance values.
Required profile
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator on highways, roadways, linear works, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Knowledge of the Temporary Works Forum (NZ) Procedural Control Good Practice Guideline.
- Strong engineering judgement and recent site‑based engineering experience.
- Understanding of temporary works risks and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time‑management skills.
