Technical Specialist – Clinical Simulation

About the role
The Technical Specialist – Clinical Simulation will help establish and run AUT’s new state‑of‑the‑art Clinical Simulation Suite. Based at the North Campus, you will work closely with academic staff, ICT, Estates and external vendors to ensure the facility supports high‑quality health education.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning, installation and optimisation of advanced clinical simulation technologies.
- Maintain the safety, reliability and innovative use of simulation equipment for teaching and learning.
- Contribute to equipment procurement, systems integration and development of operational procedures.
- Provide technical training, asset management and continuous quality improvement.
- Offer expert advice on emerging simulation best practices and technologies.
Required profile
- Permanent, full‑time position reporting to the Senior Manager – Technical Services.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary academic or health‑education environment.
- Ability to collaborate with academic staff, ICT, Estates and external suppliers.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
