Technical Manager – Quality & Food Safety

About the role

Oji Fibre Solutions Packaging is seeking a Technical Manager for its Packaging Northern site in Mangere Bridge, Auckland. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will lead a team of four and be accountable for quality assurance, food safety, quality control and regulatory compliance across a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with GMP and HACCP standards.
• Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 management systems.
• Drive improvement of customer complaint handling and investigate non‑conformance issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma, root‑cause analysis and statistical quality methods.
• Develop and coach the quality team, fostering a culture of high performance and visibility.

Required profile

• Significant experience in quality assurance, food safety and regulatory compliance within manufacturing, preferably FMCG, packaging or food sectors.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders across sales, operations and supply chain.
• Strong leadership, coaching and analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
