Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Team Lead to provide local leadership for our Dunedin team at Peke Waihanga, New Zealand’s national provider of prosthetic, orthotic and rehabilitation services. The role combines clinical practice (for clinicians) with responsibility for coaching, wellbeing and service delivery across the Southern Region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching and support to team members.
• Support staff wellbeing, development and engagement.
• Coordinate workloads, resources and service delivery to maintain high‑quality patient care.
• Build strong relationships with clinical, rehabilitation and service coordination teams.
• Lead local initiatives aligned with organisational priorities and contribute to service improvement.
• Maintain a clinical caseload (for clinical applicants) while fulfilling leadership duties.

Required profile

• Confident, approachable and hands‑on leader with a genuine desire to support the team.
• Proven leadership experience or strong capability and motivation to lead.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Collaborative mindset with commitment to continuous improvement.
• Clinical background advantageous; clinicians must have significant clinical experience.
