Tax Manager / Associate Director (Queenstown)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a Tax Manager or Associate Director to join its thriving tax team in Queenstown, New Zealand. In this role you will work with a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, large corporate groups and innovative fast‑growing companies, delivering complex tax solutions while developing your leadership and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert tax advice across a diverse client base
• Lead a client portfolio
• Help clients manage risks and achieve their business objectives
• Develop teams through coaching and mentorship
• Build strong relationships with clients and peers
• Utilise modern tools to enhance client service and efficiency
• Stay up‑to‑date with New Zealand tax legislation and regulatory changes
• Leverage technology to improve service delivery and operational efficiency

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years work experience in a professional services or corporate tax environment
• A professional qualification in accounting and/or law
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes and the New Zealand tax environment
• Excellent team player with proven organisational and communication skills
• Energetic, proactive, results‑focused and client‑oriented attitude
