Systems & Networks Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems & Networks Administrator to join Solution Squad, a fast‑growing IT services provider in New Zealand. The role involves maintaining server environments, networks, firewalls and client devices, delivering both on‑site and remote support while ensuring security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support Windows Server and Linux Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and identity management.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Conditional Access and Intune, handling patching, updates and backup processes.
• Install, configure and maintain virtualised environments (VMware, Hyper‑V) and monitor performance, capacity and uptime.
• Maintain routers, switches, VLANs, wireless access points and troubleshoot WAN/LAN issues; configure VPNs and network segmentation.
• Configure and manage firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet, Cisco), apply rules and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities.
• Deploy, configure and support desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices, managing applications, updates and licensing.
• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to multiple clients, performing hardware installations, migrations and resolving complex issues on‑site when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
