Systems Engineer – Global ICT Team

About the role

This hands‑on Systems Engineer position sits within a growing global ICT function. You will primarily support the New Zealand environment while also contributing to shared services and platforms used across the wider business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for New Zealand users, offices and infrastructure when physical presence is required.
• Take ownership of escalations, changes, technical improvements and local hands‑on activities.
• Document fixes, create runbooks and automate routine tasks to improve supportability.
• Support core infrastructure services, including Windows and Linux servers, compute, virtualization, storage, backup and network connectivity.
• Maintain virtualised environments (VMware, Hyper‑V or equivalents) and ensure lifecycle hygiene.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN and firewall‑connected services.
• Operate within ITSM processes: Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Knowledge and Service Catalogue management.

Required profile

• Enjoys solving real infrastructure problems and raising operational standards.
• Comfortable working both on‑site in New Zealand and collaborating with global ICT teams.
• Strong documentation and communication skills to ensure clear hand‑offs and escalation quality.
