Surgery Registrar (Orthopaedics) – Wellington Region

About the role

We are seeking permanent Surgical Registrar candidates with a focus on Orthopaedics to join our Wellington Region health services. Positions start as soon as possible or on 3 August 2026 and involve rotations across Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa (Masterton) hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide orthopaedic surgical care within a multi‑specialty environment.
• Rotate through General Surgery, Vascular, Paediatric, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, Urology, Otolaryngology, Plastics and other runs as required.
• Participate in endovascular procedures and kidney transplant services where applicable.
• Adhere to the Multi‑Employer Collective Agreements for salary and work hours.

Required profile

• Resident Medical Officer at PGY3/F3 level or higher by start date.
• Eligibility for general or provisional registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• NZ or Australian citizenship/residency, or appropriate visa status.
