Support Worker - Horowhenua/Kapiti/Mana

About the role

IDEA Services supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and take part in their communities. As a Support Worker in the Horowhenua/Kapiti/Mana area, you will help people build confidence, develop independence and reach their personal goals, from learning new skills and connecting with their community to gaining employment or pursuing personal interests. The organisation provides 24/7 support across Porirua, Tawa, Paraparaumu and Levin.

Required profile

• No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary; full training and orientation is provided to enthusiastic learners.
• Availability to cover daytime, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full New Zealand driver's licence.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.

Required skills

• Comfortable and proficient with computers and tablets on a daily basis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
