Structures Supervisor – Heavy Civil Projects

About the role

Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Structures Supervisor to lead heavy civil and structural projects in Wellington. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality concrete water retaining structures while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of crew and subcontractors on civil construction sites.
• Manage two concrete water retaining structures, ensuring hands‑on supervision when required.
• Maintain quality standards according to specifications and project timelines.
• Lead HSQE initiatives and ensure compliance with Fulton Hogan health and safety policies.
• Coordinate with suppliers, clients, subcontractors, and inspectors to maintain positive relationships.
• Keep accurate records of work progress, incidents, and site documentation.
• Identify and resolve on‑site issues promptly.
• Report progress, challenges, and resource needs to the Site or Project Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Civil Supervisor or Superintendent.
• Proven background in heavy civil and structural works such as bridges, retaining walls, and concrete structures valued at $10M+.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building positive team environments.
• Experience in budgeting and cost control for large‑scale projects.
