Structural Engineer – Expressions of Interest (NZ)

About the role

Stantec is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Structural Engineers to join its growing team across New Zealand. The role offers the chance to work on a strong pipeline of significant infrastructure projects in locations such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and more.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams on bridge, transport, water and marine projects.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and quality assurance for senior positions.
• Engage with clients on project strategy, business development and sustainable design initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary engineering qualification, preferably with chartered status or working towards it.
• Experience in a consultancy environment delivering structural analysis and design.
• Strong analytical, communication and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design of bridges, transport infrastructure, pipe bridges, water retaining structures, wastewater treatment plants, retaining structures and marine/sub‑structures.
• Proficiency with SAP2000 and MathCAD.
• Knowledge of NZ seismic design standards (NZS 1170 series, NSHM, SNZ TS 1170.5:2025).
• Experience with BIM management on Autodesk Construction Cloud and Revit for structures.
