Store Manager – Retail Leadership Role

About the role

JD Sports is seeking a Store Manager for its Albany location in New Zealand. The role operates Tuesday to Saturday with flexible hours and is responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience while driving sales and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a large store team and multiple department leaders to achieve sales targets.
• Manage store financial turnover, budgeting and KPI reporting.
• Coach and develop staff, creating a positive workplace culture.
• Oversee store operations, including back‑of‑house deliveries and visual merchandising.
• Drive commercial performance through smart product placement and data‑driven decisions.
• Maintain high standards of customer service across all departments.

Required profile

• Proven retail leadership experience with a track record of hitting sales targets.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets.
• Ability to analyse reports and use data to improve profitability.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills, including coaching and talent development.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience.
