Store Manager – Lead People, Performance & Standards

About the role

Mitre 10 is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead a high‑performing team in Hamilton. This hands‑on leadership position is responsible for daily store execution, driving sales, margins and customer satisfaction while fostering a people‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end store operations, ensuring compliance with service, presentation and safety standards.
• Monitor and manage financial and non‑financial performance against targets, including sales, margins, expenses and operational KPIs.
• Lead, coach and develop the retail management team, handling recruitment, performance management and succession planning.
• Promote health and safety excellence by identifying and mitigating site and people hazards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction is central to all activities.
• Work a 45‑hour week across five consecutive days, including at least one weekend day.

Required profile

• Confident, inclusive leader who enjoys coaching and developing people.
• Proven experience managing large‑format retail operations and leading teams of 60‑125 staff.
• Ability to execute best‑in‑class retail standards daily.
• Strong communication skills and a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.
